acronym becomes a synonym

 The acronym becomes a synonym for ‘I am important and know what I am doing.’ How many times is it the case that we simply don’t know what we are doing? It is often. This is why a team is essential. A leader’s job is not to try to guide everything in the direction that they want, it is to listen to their team and then to support and help in any way possible to progress in the direction that the team has chosen based on the input of various experts. When someone pays no heed to their team of experts, and beyond, you can rest assured that there is a power hungry, secretive, leader at the helm… and it never leads to any good. This is my thought for the day. 

It seems that the summit of the mountain of heat has been reached and now we slowly begin to descend into Autumn and winter. Of course, temperatures in Texas are not like those in other places. A heat warning in San Diego for 31 degrees Celsius seems somewhat humorous when considering that the same temperature is the low in Dallas. It is 31 degrees Celsius at 4am in Dallas. 

For six weeks it has been a brutal assault, and my only concern is the cat. She’s strong, but, like all of us, she is vulnerable. I watched a few videos recently of people who attempted to climb Mount Everest or to walk through Death Valley, they were focused on getting the perfect video for social media and they were not prepared. Needless to say, it ends in death. I was going to say, ‘usually ends in death’ but, no, I changed it, it simply ends in death. The amazing thing is that people ignore their experienced guides because they think they are fit or healthy. Same result as when the current government administration ignores science, climate, and finance experts because they think they know better. It always ends in disaster.

big foot beats Jesus

  It’s difficult to stop laughing these days. Well, we alternate between crying and laughing. First, I see that Elon Musk’s Grok has proved that Big Foot exists, then I see a video about ‘six proofs that Jesus never existed.’ My main thought is… why do people even care? My Theory is that there was probably a radical progressive gay guy who was preaching love and forgiveness, then the Republicans of the time put him to death in the streets for challenging their wealth and stone age beliefs. Of course, it is obvious to any scholar of the twenty first century that the bible is a metaphorical work of fiction… but it is certain that, like any work of modern fiction, the characters and events are based on real events. Someone who preaches freedom of love, freedom of religion, forgiveness, tolerance, acceptance… maybe they even supported the idea of windmills… is certain to be killed by the guys who think they are the toughest and the strongest, and the only ones worthy of having choices....

their envy

  They drive home from their 16-hour shift in the office and pull into the carpark… then they sit in their cars, engine running, lights on… they sit and sit. What are they doing? It becomes clear, they simply don’t want to go home. They are afraid of the boss all day in the office, and they are afraid all night of the lack of privacy they have in their home. So, that period in the car park after parking their car is the only period of freedom that they have in their day.                     Couples always want single people to date and ‘find a partner’. That is because they want single people to be as miserable as they are. They see the happiness and contentment of a single person and their envy makes them want to destroy it.
